
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American artist, singer, and TV host who became known as a pop rock star following being crowned the most popular TV talent show American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was born at Burleson (Texas) located in which is a suburb located in the vicinity of Fort Worth. Her vocal talents were recognized when she was just seven from the head of the choir department at her school. Following graduation, Clarkson moved into Los Angeles, where she unsuccessfully tried to break into the show business. When she returned in Texas in 2002, the singer competed on the FOX Broadcasting Company's American Idol. This singing competition gave viewers the chance to decide which singer they liked best. Clarkson's impressive voice, charisma and humor won over viewers. The prize she won was $1 million, and she also signed a recording agreement with RCA.
